Arkadelphia girls and boys will be playing in the El Dorado Invitational Tournament this weekend starting Friday night. The boys will be playing Little Rock Central and the girls will be playing DeQueen. The tournament continues throughout Saturday too. The girls are coming into the tournament in good form and the boys are still finding their groove through the injuries they have suffered so far.
We begin our non-conference schedule starting March 4th against Centerpoint and we are looking good despite our defensive injuries of late. We are a young team and it could show these first few weeks of action, but come conference play we should be in form.Good news: since my last post we are on a 5 game winning streak and are 2-0 in conference. All of our injured players are healthy and everything is going good. In the last 3 games, the JV has gotten just as much time as the varsity has because we've been scoring like crazy and Pat takes us out. Getting taken out isn't usually a good thing but it is when you score 5 goals in the first half. Hopefully this streak can continue but we have our first real conference test on Monday against CAC.
As of right now we are 0-5 but to our defense we haven't played any other teams in 4A. All of our games have been close though except for one game against the 3 time defending state champions. We have 2 starters who are injured right now but both of them should be back by the time of our first conference game on March 28. Its good for us that going to state is only determined by conference.
